About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
Client Account Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, from initial design conceptualization to project completion.
- Ensure collaborative work with clients, architects, and designers to align project goals and expectations.
- Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction with project progress and outcomes.
Develop and Read Construction Documents:
- Document Preparation: Develop comprehensive construction documents that include detailed drawings, specifications, and other related documents necessary for building construction. These documents serve as the official record of what is to be built and how it is to be constructed.
- Interpretation and Analysis: Skillfully read and interpret construction documents to understand the project scope, specifications, and design intent. This includes deciphering architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings.
- Coordination: Ensure all documents are accurately coordinated across various disciplines, including architecture, engineering (structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing), and landscaping. This prevents conflicts in the construction phase due to overlapping or contradictory information.
- Compliance Verification: Verify that construction documents comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and zoning laws. This includes local and national building codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
- Revisions and Updates: Regularly update construction documents to reflect changes made during the planning and construction phases. Manage document versions to keep all stakeholders on the same page.
- Communication: Clearly communicate technical details and project requirements to construction teams, contractors, and stakeholders through construction documents. This ensures that everyone involved understands their roles and responsibilities.
- Quality Assurance: Review construction documents for quality assurance before submission or use on-site. Check for accuracy, completeness, and clarity to avoid costly errors or delays during construction.
Record Keeping: Maintain and manage all construction documentation throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that they are accessible for review, compliance checks, and future reference.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to project team members on interpreting and using construction documents effectively. This may include workshops or one-on-one sessions.
- Technology Utilization: Utilize advanced software and technology, such as CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and BIM (Building Information Modeling), to create, view, and manage construction documents digitally.
Conceptualization (Agile Focus):
- Employ Agile methodologies to lead the initial design conceptualization process through to the completion of construction and renovation projects.
- Facilitate brainstorming sessions to generate innovative and creative design solutions.
- Ensure the design is flexible and adaptable, aligning with Agile principles throughout the project lifecycle.
Balancing Act:
- Achieve a harmonious blend of aesthetics and functionality, incorporating elements like natural light, HVAC systems, and community needs into the design.
- Conduct feasibility studies, sustainability assessments, and compliance checks with zoning laws and community standards to validate the project concept.
Interdepartmental and External Collaboration:
- Foster strong relationships and ensure seamless project execution by coordinating with construction crews, photographers, structural engineers, architects, and soil engineers.
- Lead design meetings using Agile principles, keeping various departments and stakeholders informed and engaged with ongoing project updates, modifications, and next steps.
- Act as a community liaison to manage interactions with the neighborhood and local authorities, ensuring the project integrates smoothly with community expectations and regulations.
- Participate actively in the quality assurance team to ensure that all design and construction meet the highest quality standards and comply with all regulations.
Requirements
The GLAM Designer plays a critical role in leading the Design & Planning phase of our real estate projects. This position requires a dynamic, detail-oriented individual with a deep understanding of design conceptualization, blueprint creation, and stakeholder collaboration.
Qualifications:
Must have an intrapreneurial spirit.
Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a design firm or related environment.
Ability to develop and read design, bid, and construction documents.
Strong understanding of Regulatory and Permitting Requirements and Agile Project Management principles.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize effectively.
Detail-oriented with a keen eye for aesthetics and functionality.

Experience working within the construction industry.
Knowledge of sustainable design principles.
Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
Technology Requirements:
Must possess a reliable and high-speed internet connection.
